Achu and her father bids adieu before Unnikuttan’s birth
Kochi: “I will be the first to carry Unnikuttan when he is born. As his elder sister, I will buy black bangles for him,” said Achu keeping her face close to her mother’s baby bump. The whole family enjoyed her cute words. But when Achu’s mother gave birth to the baby boy, who was addressed as Unnikuttan before birth, Achu was not there to welcome her sibling.
On Monday, Thrikkakkara native Majesh and his daughter Archana aka Achu were killed in a car accident at Muttom here. Majesh’s wife Revathy was hospitalized for delivery when the accident took place. On Wednesday evening, she gave birth to her second child. When she gained consciousness after the delivery, she broke into tears missing her daughter Achu who was eagerly waiting for her Unnikuttan. The whole family members who are also heart-broken were found helpless to console Revathy who lost her elder child a day before her son’s birth.
Achu was confident that she will get a cute brother and she also named the baby as Unnikuttan.
Revathy was too weak after the funeral of her husband and daughter on Tuesday. Later, she was taken to the private hospital where she was under treatment. She gave birth to the baby boy around 3.58 pm on Wednesday.
“Achu was eagerly waiting for his arrival. She reserved the money received as ‘Vishukaineetam’ to buy a gift for Unnikuttan,” said Revathy’s sister Ramya with tears.
Revathy is working at a private hospital here.
