Alappuzha: A man has been taken into custody in connection with the incident in which a Gulf returnee woman was abducted in Mannar the other day. The person in custody was identified as Mannar native Peter.
The police said that the man in custody was not part of the kidnapping team but helped them. It was Peter who showed the woman’s house to the kidnappers, they said. His arrest will be recorded on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, Korattikkad native Bindu who was abducted by the gang, admitted to police that she has links with the gold smugglers. Bindu had brought 1.5 kilogram of gold when she came from Dubai to Kerala via Maldives. She abandoned the gold on the way as she feared that she would be caught by the officials.
