92-yr-old woman hacked to death in Pathanamthitta
Pathanamthitta: An elderly woman was hacked to death in Kumbazha here. The deceased was identified as Kumbazha native Janaki (92). She was found with a deep slit on her throat in the living room of the house.
Mayilswamy, a domestic help, has been taken into custody in connection with the incident. None of the family members were present in the house during the incident.
After the murder, the accused prepared a letter in Malayalam and placed it on different parts of the house. The letters were covered in plastic bag to protect it from rain. Mayilswamy is a speech-impaired person.
One of the letter was given to the neighbours along with the newspaper. Those who found the note informed the police. The note stated that he committed the murder and would go to jail.
The police came to know about the incident on Tuesday by 8 in the morning. District police chief K G Simon arrived at the place and started investigation.
K G Simon said that the murder was pre-planned. For the past 4 years, Mayilswamy and a woman named Bhoopathi were staying with Janaki for help. Bhoopathi had returned to her native place a few days ago. It is learned that Mayilswamy committed the murder all by himself.
