500 kg ganja seized from container lorry in TVM; Excise nabs key accused
Thiruvananthapuram: A special team of excise arrested the key accused linked with the smuggling of 500 kg ganja that was seized from a container lorry in Attingal. The accused is identified as Jayan aka Jayachandran Nair, a native of Muttappalam in Chirayinkeezhu.
The excise officials evaluate that his statement will be crucial to uncover more details of the ganja smuggling.
The officials seized 500 kg ganja from a container lorry at Attingal on last Sunday. The ganja was found hidden inside the secret locker of the national permit container lorry.
After seizing the ganja, the excise officials arrested Punjab native Kulwant Singh and Jharkhand native Krishna who were in the lorry.
Meanwhile, further investigation into the ganja smuggling revealed that the duo was only the carriers. Following this, the probe team started into the investigation of the people behind it.
