4 Bangladeshi workers found working in Kollam factory without required documents, arrested

On further investigation, it was revealed that they stayed back in the country even after their visa period expired.

Arrested Bangladeshi workers

Kollam: Four Bangladeshi migrants who were working in a cashew nut factory in Kollam without required documents have been arrested by the police. Mohammed Saidul Rahman (22), Mohammed Abdul Wahab (28) Mohammed Emdadul (35) and Mohammed Alittan Ali (42) were arrested by police on Sunday. They were nabbed while taking the number of migrant workers in the factory through police’s mobile app.

They did not have any documents proving their Indian citizenship. On further investigation, it was revealed that they stayed back here even after their visa expired. As per law, they should have reported to the nearest police station. However, Jaison, the owner of the cashew factory did not report this. Case has been filed with Jaison and manager Anil Xavier as the first and second accused in the case. Police have initiated the procedures to repatriate the Bangladeshi workers.

The accused were arrested under the leaderhip of Shooranadu CI Firoz, Sub Inspectors P Sreejith and Jayachandra Babu, ASI Rasheed, CPO Arun and  Jayakumar.
