4 arrested for chopping off leg of murder case accused in TVM
Thiruvananthapuram: Four persons have been arrested in connection with the case for chopping the leg of a murder case accused at Sreekariyam here.
The arrested are identified as Srekariyam native Sumesh (28), Mannanthala native Manoj (40), Peroorkada native Vinu Kumar (43) and kudappanakunnu native Ananthu (30). All of them are directly involved in the attack.
The gang were arrested from a hideout near the medical college. They attacked Sreekariyam native Aby, the fourth accused in the murder case of RSS worker Edavacode native Rajesh. They had completely chopped off Aby’s right leg.
The police checked over 20 CCTV camera in the area to get clues about the accused. The police traced them as they found the number of the Santro car in which the gang was travelling. The probe focusing on the mobile phone of Manoj led to their arrest.
Aby was the member of a gang led by Manikuttan, the first accused in Rajesh murder case. Aby is currently undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. All of the accused who attacked him are RSS and BJP workers who are friends and relatives of Rajesh.
