Tirur: In a major drug bust, police have seized 230 kg of ganja while being smuggled from Thrissur to Kozhikode here on Friday. Police arrested three people after seizing the vehicle at Chamravattom.
Dinesh (37) from Alur, Manoharan (35) from Alathur, and Vineeth (35) from Mattathur were arrested.
The ganja was found hidden inside a tarpaulin folded in the back of the lorry that seems to be returning after unloading goods. The police have concluded that the ganja was brought from Andhra Pradesh.
Following a tip-off received by Malappuram, a team including SP Sujith Das, Tirur DYSP KA Suresh Babu, CI Lijo, SI Jaleel, and SI Jalil Karuthetath along with the crime squad conducted the search to seize the ganja.
