2 more mysterious deaths in Ponnamattam family, allege relatives
Kozhikode: As the probe into the controversial Koodathai murder is on progress, relatives of Ponnamattam family alleged that two more deaths had occurred in the family under mysterious conditions. They raised suspicion on Jolly’s involvement in the deaths.
“The two deceased people were very close to Jolly. One of them had noted in his diary that he was trapped,” said Elsamma, a relative.
Suneesh and Vincent, relatives of Tom Thomas - father of Jolly's first husband Roy Thomas - were found dead under suspicious circumstances. Among them, Suneesh was killed in a bike accident while Vincent’s was a suicide case.
Suneesh’s mother Elsamma raised the new murder charges against Jolly. She also demanded to probe into Suneesh’s death.
Suneesh was killed in a bike accident at Pulikayam.
“He had good friendship with Jolly and her first husband Roy. They even went together to get driving licence,” said Elsamma.
Suneesh’s note in his diary revealed a conspiracy against him.
“I was trapped,” wrote Suneesh in his diary.
This note made his relatives to suspect Jolly in connection with his death.
“Vincent’s body was found on the cot, down on his knees position, with the hanging knot on his neck. Police suspected his death after observing the position of the body. Investigation was also carried out,” said Elsamma.
The deaths occurred in the family of retired government official Tom Thomas. The first to die was his wife, retired teacher Annamma in 2002, followed by Thomas in 2008. Then in 2011, their son Roy died, followed by the death of his maternal uncle Mathew in 2014.
Then the next year, the two-year-old child of Sili, a relative by marriage of the family, died and in 2016, Sili also passed away.
The police began the probe after Rojo, the son of the couple and settled in the US, filed a complaint.
Jolly, Roy's wife and two others were arrested on charges of Roy's murder the other day.
