Thiruvananthapuram: A minor boy from Rajasthan has been nabbed by the police for trying to swindle money by creating a fake Facebook profile of IG P Vijayan. The cyber police team nabbed him after investigation focussing on Rajasthan in the previous days.
The boy created the IG's fake profile and sent messages to his friends requesting money. The IG warned people regarding this after he noticed the profile. Soon after this, fake profiles in the name of several police officers were created for fraudulent activities.
Following this, the police team intensified probe. The police team that reached Rajasthan as part of probe into various cyber cases including honey trap case in Thiruvananthapuram nabbed the culprits who created fake profiles.
The frauds focus on border areas of Rajasthan, Haryana and Uttar Pradesh for their activities. The police also arrested two natives of Kaman in Rajasthan in connection with the honey trap case.
