'Was raped brutally after being tied to bed by health inspector,' states victim
Thiruvananthapuram: The FIR in the rape case filed against the health inspector stated that the woman was raped brutally after being tied to a bed.
The woman visited the health inspector at his home in Pangode on September 3. He attacked the woman immediately after she entered the house and then raped her after tying to a bed and using a cloth to gag her.
The woman told the police that the abuse continued all night long and that she was let go only the next morning.
The accused, who has been arrested, was brought to his house in Pangode for evidence collection. The forensic team also collected evidence from the house. He will be taken to the court and remanded by Monday evening.
Meanwhile, the Women's Commission has registered a suo moto case against the health inspector and directed the state health secretary to initiate disciplinary action against him.
Condemning the incident, the leader of opposition in the state assembly, Ramesh Chennithala said the incident has brought shame to the state.
The other day a shocking news of an ambulance driver raping a young Covid-19 female patient inside an ambulance in Pathanamthitta district had surfaced.
These incidents show the "serious lapses" on the part of the health department, he alleged.
