“I have killed her” Premkumar's confession to police through WhatsApp message
Kochi: A confession made through a WhatsApp message by the husband of the deceased in the Udayamperoor murder case, had paved the way to the arrest of him and his lover. Premkumar had sent a voice message to the police via WhatsApp claiming that he had killed his wife. Following this, the Kerala police informed the matter to Tiruchirappalli police and they found the mortal remains of the deceased.
Premkumar confessed to the police after he knew that he would be arrested anytime soon. Earlier, the police assumed that she went to Goa as they traced her mobile phone which was abandoned in the Netravati Express. However, Premkumar came under the scanner. According to police sources, after lodging a complaint with the police, Premkumar was not seen for a long time. This raised suspicion. Meanwhile, the police found out that Premkumar started to live with his girlfriend Sunita. Therefore, the suspicion grew stronger. Prem Kumar sought an anticipatory bail when he realised that the probe was turning towards him. As Premkumar realised that he would be arrested anytime soon, he sent the WhatsApp message to the investigating officials on December 6.
Tiruchirappalli police had sent the photo of Vidya’s body following which Premkumar confirmed the identity of the deceased. Meanwhile, Tiruchirappalli police had found a body and buried it as an unidentified corpse. Later they exhumed the body and sent it for postmortem.
