'Would like to do a full-fledged villain role'
Nivin Pauly, who delivered four consecutive hits, has become the newgen Superstar. Though producers are ready to offer him crores, the young man values good films more than the money. Pauly opens up to Mathrubhumi Star and Style on his stardom, roles and co-stars.
You have worked with many actresses. Whom did you find most comfortable to work with?
There are several actresses whom I found comfortable to work with. I could communicate well with Sai Pallavi, Madonna, Isha Talwar and Nazriya.
Do you have a dream role in mind?
I would like to do a full-fledged villain role in a film.
Won’t that affect your image?
There is no image sort of thing. If an actor does a good character, the audience will accept it. That’s all.
Did you do "Action Hero Biju" in order to change your image as a lover boy?
More than that, the theme of the film attracted me to do the film. The action scenes were shot after practicing for some days. The fight master of the film was Allan Amin, who did the action scenes for hindi films Dhool and Krrish. He has not done many films in Malayalam.
In your recent films, the heroines do not have a major role. Is it because the depiction of love was more in 'Premam' ?
I do not have any problems on people falling in love. I merely do the films according to what the scriptwriters have written.
When you deliver hits, the film field will label you as a superstar. How do you view this?
That label will no suit me now. I do not think about such things. After each film, I think how I can make the next film better. I never take stardom seriously. You will get such labels when your films do well. I have just started and there are more things to prove.
Does someone help you in the selection of characters?
I used to discuss with my friends if the subject is confusing. But I myself select the films nowadays. I do not avoid films if I find some novelty in it.
