Case should be taken against those who 'killed' Mamukkoya: Mohanlal
Kochi:Actor Mohanlal said that cyber police should register a case against the people who spread false news that actor Mamukkoya was dead.
In his blog, Mohanlal condemned the recent trend in social media of killing celebrities who are very much alive and expressing condolences to them. The blog is titled 'Mamukkoyaye konnathu malayaliyude manovaikruthum'.
"Some days back a news started circulating in social media. Actor Mamukkoya has passed away. The post also said that the cause of death was kidney disease. Those who knew Mamukkoya called him. Those who didn't know him also started calling each other. While all this was going on, Mamukkoya was at Wayanad laughing and making others laugh. He told everybody who called him 'Njan Marichu' in typical kozhikodan style. Those who called laughed upon hearing this. Mamukkoya switched off the phone when the calls started increasing. This continued for the next two days. At last, it ended as a joke," the actors says in his blog.
Mohanlal further said that he could not take the incident as a joke as he too was killed in the same manner many a time.
"Once I was shooting in Ooty. Somebody called my house and said that I had died in a car accident. Those days telephone was not common like today. The mental agony that my parents went through cannot be measured. Those who create and spread such news to misguide people and the society should be considered as criminals and caught,"Mohanlal said.
