Mollywood actor Gauthami Nair, popularly known for her role in ‘Diamond Necklace’ revealed her separation from filmmaker Srinath Rajendran. The couple tied the knot in 2017 and this for the first time that she is revealing the separation.
Speaking in an interview with Dhanya Varma on her YouTube channel, Gauthami opened up about her personal life and said she was single after a long time.
“My marriage was very hush-hush. I don’t like making big news out of my personal matters and like to keep my private space private. I kept the news to myself because I was not comfortable with people writing about it,” she said.
“Our separation was not all messy or dramatic. It was mutual and there was zero drama. We still check up on each other. But, I really needed therapy to adjust to the whole thing and figure out what to do. I was in therapy for about two months,” she added.
Pointing out that they decided to part ways following differences in ideologies, she said, “We tried to find a balance somewhere, but for that, either one of us had to compromise.”
Gauthami Nair, who made her silver screen debut through the 2012 movie ‘Second Show’, went on to star in ‘Diamond Necklace’ and won the Filmfare Award for Best Supporting Actress for her performance.
She is currently working at Sree Chitra Hospital in Thiruvananthapuram as a research fellow in the area of Neuroscience.
