Kunchacko Boban and Arvind Swami in 'Ottu'

Mollywood star Kunchacko Boban is feeling proud after sharing the screenspace with Kollywood star Arvind Swami in the recently released movie ‘Ottu’. In an interview with Mathrubhumi, Chackochan talked about his friendship with the Tamil actor.

“ I was really surprised when I came to know that Arvind Swami sir is a famous cook. Once, two noted chefs lauded his cooking skills when we were having food at a popular restaurant in Mumbai. The chefs had tasted the food prepared by Arvind sir in Chennai. When we were having food, they approached us and showered praises on Arvind sir for his magical skills in cooking,” explained Chackochan.

“ Arvind Sir’s daughter is also a good cook. They conducted four days long food show in Chennai. When I was listening to all these stories, Arvind sir surprised me with an interesting offer. He told me that he will visit my house and prepare food for me. When I informed him that I live in a small house without many facilities, he asked me that I just need to arrange a kitchen for cooking,” Chackochan recollected the conversation with Arvind Swami.

“ Now, I’m waiting to taste his special dishes,” he added.

Talking about the rapport with Arvind Swami, Chackochan described their hangout time in Mumbai.

“ Our shooting in Mumbai usually started during noon hours. So, we used to go for a morning walk and enjoy tea in small tea stalls together. Interestingly, he used to call me ‘Chacko Chan’ like Jackie Chan. He is a very cool person. Though he is very busy with his business and other matters, he impresses us with his homework for movies. I just kept watching him as he takes maximum effort to give his best performance in each scene,” explained Kunchacko Boban.

‘Ottu’ marked Arvind Swami’s comeback to Mollywood after 26 years. The movie directed by Fellini TP was released on September 8.
