Thodupuzha: The natives have staged a protest at the shooting location of Tovino Thomas starring ‘Minnal Murali’ at Kumaramangalam panchayat here on Saturday.The makers cancelled the shooting after the natives declared that they will not allow the shooting as Kumaramangalam grama panchayat falls under the most restricted ‘D-category’ of COVID restrictions.
Following this, police registered a case against the makers over COVID protocol violation.
Though initially, the crew argued that they have permission for shooting, police found it was incorrect.
The crew arrived at Kumaramangalam on Friday.
Filmmakers, after several rounds of discussions with the authorities, had secured permission last week for restricted activities. They had also released a ‘standard operating procedure’ for the industry to work abiding by the Covid-19 protocols.
'Minnal Murali' is a superhero film directed by Basil Joseph and produced by Sophia Paul.
