The first shot of Suresh Gopi’s 250th movie ‘Ottakkomban’ was taken in front of this church. Suresh Gopi plays the character of a Christian from Pala in the movie produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam.

There was a lot of controversy around ‘Ottakkomban’. The movie allegedly had similarities with Prithviraj- Shaji Kailas-Jinu Abraham film ‘Kaduva’. ‘Ottakkomban’, produced by Tomichan Mulakuppadam under the banner of Mulakuppadam Films was originally named ‘Kaduvakkunnel Kuruvachan’ before it was changed.
