Actor-cum-director Dhyan Sreenivasan on Sunday dismissed actor Tini Tom’s statement on the rampant substance abuse prevailing in Mollywood film industry.
Speaking to ‘Mathrubhumi News’, Dhyan opined, "If an individual decides to harm themselves with drugs, they will do so regardless. It's impossible to force someone to consume drugs. If anyone is aware of the harmful effects of drugs, they won't use them."
Earlier on Saturday, Tini Tom revealed that his wife had rejected the opportunity to let their son act in a movie out of fear of the increasing cases of drug abuse at film locations.
Tini Tom, who is the ambassador of Kerala police’ anti-drug campaign, made the remarks while addressing a students’ programme in Kerala University.
Meanwhile, the state police have decided to take stringent measures to curb substance abuse in shooting locations. Reportedly, shadow police officers will also be deployed in shooting sites.
