The complainant is a woman of Sri Lankan origin living in Germany. She accused that she used to chat with Arya and that he cheated her by promising to marry her. She also added that the actor took almost Rs 70 lakhs from her.

Chennai: Two imposters who tricked a Sri Lankan woman by pretending to be Tamil actor Arya have been arrested. The arrested have been identified as Mohammed Arman and Mohammed Hussain. They were arrested by the Chennai Cyber Police team led by Inspector Geetha.

The complainant is a woman of Sri Lankan origin living in Germany. She accused that she used to chat with Arya and that he cheated her by promising to marry her. She also added that the actor took almost Rs 70 lakhs from her.

Police had called Arya to inquire about the matter. Arya said that someone could have cheated her by using his name. The police investigation was started after that.
