Nanchamma
Attapady: Nanchamma’s long wait for a comfortable shelter ended when Philokalia Foundation constructed a new house and presented it to her. The new house has been built next to her old house in Nakkupathi tribal hamlet.
Earlier, she had lamented that her house has no enough space to even keep her awards. Philokalia Foundation had come up for Nanchamma offering help.
The construction began only three months ago. After finishing all building works, Nanchamma shifted to the new house on Friday.
Nanchamma’s debut songs in the movie ‘Ayyappanum Koshiyum’ had put her to fame and paved the way for the National Award for Best Playback Singer.
