Shooting of first ‘found footage’ movie in Malayalam ‘Vazhiye’ begins

Director Nirmal Baby Varghese has started the shooting of the first ‘found footage’ movie in Malayalam, ‘Vazhiye’. The team held a pooja function on September 28 to mark the commencement of the film's first schedule. Hollywood music director Evan Evans will compose the background score for this independent horror-thriller.

Baby Chaithanya will produce this horror thriller under the banner of Casablanca Film Factory in association with Vivid Frames. Midhun Eravil, Shobin Francis, Kiran Kambrath will crank camera while newcomers Jeffin Joseph, Aswathi Anil Kumar, Varun Ravindran, Addina, Joji Tomy, Shyam Salash, Rajan will play the lead roles.

Director Nirmal had released the announcement video and the title poster of the film on Thiruvonam day through his Facebook account. The film will be shot in Konnakkad, Ariyiruthi, Badoor, Kanamvayal, Pulingom, Cherupuzha and on Kasaragod-Karnataka borders.

Nirmal’s documentary film Thariode will be released soon. He is also planning a cinematic remake of this documentary. The remake is titled ‘Thariode: The Lost City’.
