As Mollywood bid adieu to actor Innocent the other day, filmmaker Sathyan Anthikad’s son Anoop Sathyan recollected his father visiting the late actor at the hospital a few days back. Taking to Facebook, he wrote that his father was broken inside on seeing Innocent in the ventilator.

“This happened a week back, the day ‘Innocent’ uncle got shifted to the ventilator. We were all worried, but he had always made us believe that he would take a U-turn right before hitting the dead end. And that we just needed to wait,” Anoop wrote.

“Seeing ‘Innocent’ Uncle connected to the tubes and machines, Achan was broken inside. But he managed to cheer up Alice aunty and Sonu Chettan, even making them smile after reminding a joke about uncle. Then the twins ‘Innu’ & ‘Anna’ -his grandchildren- reached the hospital to see their ‘Appappan’. Achan did the same to them, cracked a joke and ‘Innu’, the Jr. Innocent smiled. But, with tears streaming through his glasses,” he added.

Further, Anoop mentioned about Innocent's grandkids visit to the hospital and said that his father cracked a joke with them. “Achan shrugged off his diplomacy this time and told him - No one should do this to their family and close ones. Making them feel this attached, being this loveable to them, making them believe that he would never die,” he added.

Innocent breathed his last on Sunday night at VPS Lakeshore Hospital in Kochi. The hospital said that the non-functioning of many organs and a heart attack led to the actor's death.
