Actress Samantha Ruth Prabhu broke down at the trailer launch event of her upcoming mythological romantic drama ‘Shaakuntalam’ on Monday. Speaking at the event, the actress said that her love for cinema has not changed even amid all her recent life struggles.

The actress, who is currently battling with an autoimmune condition called Myositis, became emotional when director Gunasekhar was speaking about her.

Last November, Samantha had revealed that she had been diagnosed with Myositis and said her doctors were confident that she would make a complete recovery very soon.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote: "Your response to the 'Yashodha' trailer was overwhelming. It is this love and connection that I share with all of you, that gives me the strength to deal with the seemingly unending challenges that life throws at me."

The actor’s upcoming release ‘Shaakuntalam’, based on Kalidasa's acclaimed Sanskrit play Abhijnana Shakuntalam, will hit the theatres on February 17, 2023.

Samantha was recently seen in the sci-fi thriller film 'Yashoda' which received positive responses from the audience.

She will be next seen in an upcoming romantic film 'Khusi' opposite actor Vijay Deverakonda and reportedly will also be seen in the Indian adaptation of the American series 'Citadel' alongside Varun Dhawan.
