Release of ‘Marakkar’ postponed again amid COVID scare

The release of big budget movie ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ starring Mohanlal and directed by Priyadarshan has been rescheduled amid the second wave of COVID-19. It is announced that the movie will have a worldwide release on August 12, 2021.

Mohanlal has confirmed the news through his social media pages.

Earlier, the movie was scheduled to release on May 13. As the government is mulling the closure of theatres amid the surge in COVID cases, the team decided to postpone the release.

The movie starring Mohanlal has won three national awards including best film this year. The movie will hit theatres in 5 languages including Malayalam, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.

The release of the movie has been continusoly interrupted due to the pandemic. Initially, the makers planned to release the movie on March 21, 2020. But following the lockdown, the release was extended.

Apart from Mohanlal, the movie has a stellar cast including Pranav Mohanlal, Kalyani Priyadarshan, Tamil action king Arjun Sarja, Prabhu, Manju Warrier, Suhasini, Keerthy Suresh, Nedumudi Venu, Innocent and Siddique.
