Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala State Chalachitra Academy chairman Ranjith came out against KB Ganesh Kumar MLA’s remarks slamming the academy.
“I am deeply saddened by Ganesh Kumar’s statement. He has misunderstood things and should not have made such a comment,” said Ranjith.
“The academy has been implementing around 25 projects. One can look at the activity report and understand what is happening inside the academy,” he added.
The filmmaker also requested Ganesh Kumar to pay a visit to the academy headquarters in Kazhakootam and evaluate things for himself.
Ganesh Kumar had earlier said that the activities of the Chalachitra Academy has denigrated into mere giveaway of Film - Television awards and the organisation of film festivals.
The actor-turned politician made the remarks while taking part in a panel discussion organised as part of the Kerala Legislature International Book Fair in the capital city.
