Alappuzha: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi found time to interact with Malayalam actor Vinu Mohan during ‘Bharat Jodo Yatra’ here on Sunday. The ‘Nivedyam’ actor who joined the foot march was on cloud nine after getting a chance to meet Rahul Gandhi.
While interacting with Vinu, Rahul Gandhi revealed that he loves to watch Iranian movies. “I used to watch English films. But I enjoy Iranian films a lot. I found the intellectual eminence and presentation of Iranian movies very interesting,” Rahul told Vinu, who introduced himself as an actor.
Rahul also expressed interest to watch Vinu’s films and requested the actor to send his movies. Rahul was very happy when Vinu told him that his grandfather Kottarakkara Sreedharan Nair received a national award from Indira Gandhi.
Apart from movies, Vinu Mohan discussed rejuvenation of mangrove forests and rehabilitation of vagabonds with the Congress leaders.
“I felt very comfortable while interacting with Rahul Gandhi. He was like a best friend who always listens,” said the actor.
At the same time, Vinu Mohan asserted that he is not a Congress activist. He clarified that he participated in the foot march after receiving invitation from Ramesh Chennithala.
