The Central Board of Film Certification has directed the makers of 'Kaduva' starring Prithviraj to change the name of the protagonist in the movie. The action was taken over a complaint filed by Jose Kuruvinakunnel. It is learnt that the movie is based on the life of Jose Kuruvinakunnel.
On Wednesday, the Censor Board heard the arguments of the lawyers represented by the filmmakers and Jose Kuruvinakunnel.
In the movie, Prithviraj plays the role of Kaduvakunnel Kuruvachan. Jose Kuruvinakunnel is known as Kuruvinakkunel Kuruvachan.
His lawyer argued that the story of the movie is based on his life. Observing this, the Censor Board asked the filmmakers to change the protagonist's name.
In the order, the Censor Board pointed out that the movie neither portrays the complainant's life nor features him in bad light.
'Kaduva' directed by Shaji Kailas will hit the theatres on Friday after completely abiding to the guidelines of the Censor Board. Online booking of the ticket has already commenced.
Prithviraj apologised to the audience over the delay in the release. The promo song of the movie was released on social media platforms. 'Kaduva' marks the reunion of Prithviraj and Shaji Kailas after 'Simhasanam'. Jinu V Abraham penned the script.
Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi playes the role of antagonist in the movie. Arjun Ashokan, Alencier, Baiju and Renji Panicker are also playing pivotal roles in the movie.
