Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala cultural minister Saji Cherian denounced the upcoming movie "Kerala Stories" as a deliberate attempt to destroy the atmosphere of religious harmony in the state. The movie reportedly portrays 32,000 women from Kerala being recruited for terrorist activities, which the minister calls a baseless and humiliating move for the state.

He accused the Sangh Parivar of producing the film with the intention of spreading communalism and creating political gains in the future.

The minister emphasised that Kerala is a state where religious harmony prevails, and attempts to label it as a breeding ground for terrorism will not succeed. He called on all sections of society to reject the movie with contempt. He warned that the possibility of legal action against such false propaganda will be examined. The Minister stressed that freedom of expression is not a licence to poison society and that such moves will be resisted and defeated.
