Asif Ali’s upcoming movie ‘Kunjeldho’ directed by Mathukutty will be released in theatres only, informed producer Suvin K Varkey in a press note.
“Kunjeldho is the story of our friend’s fight to survive. It is a story of a man who fought to get back to his life. We always dreamt of seeing the movie between the thunderous applause inside the theatre. We believe only people who dream deserves to be in film industry. Kunjeldho will not have a direct OTT release,” said Suvin K Varkey.
As some movies are going for direct OTT release, Film Exhibitors Federation have come up with a threat to ban the actors, directors and producers who are associated with the movies.

“Movie lovers will travel miles to a distant theater to watch a good movie. Embrace the change. You couldn’t stop television. You couldn’t stop YouTube and now what is happening with the streaming revolution is unstoppable. Let me take this moment to bow to the great visionary Shri Kamal Hassan who made a bold attempt of this genre back in 2013, when streaming platforms were not as popular as these times. We all love movie, not the theatres,” writes Suvin appealing to the theatre owners to stop opposing movie release through streaming platforms.
‘Kunjeldho’ is produced by Suvin K Varkey under the banner of Little Big Film. Vineeth Sreenivasan is the creative director of the movie.
The movie is scheduled to release in June.
