Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chalachithra Academy Chairman director Ranjith said that Bhavana's participation in the opening ceremony of IFFK gave a strong message on this government's cultural policy.
"When we announced our decision to invite Bhavana, everyone, including Minister Saji Cheriyan gave their full support," Ranjith said.
Ranjith also said that the issue of him visiting Dileep in jail is now controversial. He said that he has never appeared anywhere in support of Dileep and never kept any close ties with him.
" Like everyone, I also believed that Dileep wouldn't have done that heinous act when he was arrested," he added.
He also gave an explanation over visiting actor Dileep in jail.
" I only accompanied actor Suresh Krishna to the jail. As I didn't want to meet Dileep, I decided to sit outside. But as the media was outside, I accompanied Suresh Krishna to the jail. Dileep reached there when we were talking to the jail superintendent. Suresh Krishna and Dileep spoke personally. After 10 minutes they returned. I never told anywhere that Dileep is innocent," asserted Ranjith.
Ranjith was reacting to the criticism against him over inviting Bhavana to the IFFK event.
He said he do not care for haters who criticise it.
