‘Anuraga Madhuchashakam’, the first track of Aashiq Abu’s much-awaited horror thriller ‘Neelavelicham’, starring Tovino Thomas, Rima Kallingal and Roshan Mathew in lead roles, was released on Wednesday.

The song, which has KS Chithra’s vocals, is the new version of the classic ‘Anuraga Madhuchashakam’, originally sung by S Janaki in 1964. It is composed by MS Baburaj and the lyrics are by P Bhaskaran.

The latest version of the song features Rima Kallingal dancing to Sreejith Dancity’s choreography, while Roshan Mathew plays the Veena.

‘Neelavelicham’ is an adaptation of legendary writer Vaikkom Muhammed Basheer’s short story of the same title. The film was announced as part of the writer's 113rd birthday celebrations.

The film marks Tovino's fourth movie with Aashiq Abu after 'Maayanadhi', 'Virus' and 'Naaradan'.

Earlier, it had been announced that Prithviraj and Kunchacko Boban will play lead roles in the movie. But the duo reportedly opted out from the project due to date clashes.
