Mohanlal in 'Marakkar' movie

Kochi: Mohanlal-Priyadarshan combo’s big-budget and national award-winning movie ‘Marakkar: Arabikadalinte Simham’ is likely to release in theatres. The theatre owners will speak to Priyadarshan and Mohanlal regarding this. Representing the theatre owners, Kerala Film Chamber is also planning to discuss the same after producer Antony Perumbavoor recently hinted at plans on OTT release.

The theatre owners unanimously said that they require a big-budget movie like 'Marakkar' to overcome the financial crisis caused during the pandemic.

The movie will also feature Mohanlal’s son Pranav Mohanlal and Priyadarshan’s daughter Kalyani Priyadarshan in key roles. Mohanlal and Priyadarshan prefer a theatrical release for this movie as it would be one of the best movies in their children’s career. This preference gives hope for the theatre owners too.

They believe that Dulquer Salmaan’s ‘Kurup’ is also to strike gold as it will hit theatres on November 12. The Film Chamber has promised the theatre owners that they will speak to Mohanlal and Priyadarshan on this followed by the meeting at Kochi.
