Godwin Kakkayam
Perambra: Noted music director and singer Godwin Kakkayam passed away here on Tuesday. He was 57.
He was under treatment due to kidney-related illness. Though he was settled at Belthangady in Karnataka, he was in his hometown in Kozhikode for the past two years for treatment.
The movie ‘Alakadal’ in which he composed songs is about to release soon. He also worked as music director for several plays, songs in both Malayalam and Kannada along with Christian devotional songs. He was the key organiser of Kalabhavan Theatres in Kozhikode. He was the music director of Belthangady diocese.
Godwin is survived by his wife Simi and son Alen. His funeral was held at the cemetery of St Lawrence Cathedral church in Belthangady on Wednesday morning.
