Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Edavela Babu on Tuesday slammed the movie ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’, starring Vineeth Sreenivasan, amid a talk on 'film and writing' at the Kerala Legislature International Book Festival (KLIBF).
Speaking at the festival, the actor termed the movie as “completely negative” and said, “I don’t know how the movie received the U certificate from Central Board of Film Certification.”
In addition, Babu accused the heroine’s character of using foul language. “I cannot understand how the movie ran in theatres. Who has lost values here, the filmmakers or the audience?,” he asked.
Babu also said that seven actors were not ready to star in ‘Mukundan Unni Associates’, but Vineeth Sreenivasan could not reject it as it was directed by his assistant.
‘Mukundan Unni Associates’, directed by debutant Abhinav Sunder Nayak and produced by Dr Ajith Joy under the banner of Joy Movie Productions, was released on November 11.
The film also features Suraj Venjaramoodu, Tanvi Ram, Jagadeesh, Manikandan Pattambi, George Kora, Aarsha Chandini Baiju, Althaf Salim, and Riya Saira in significant roles.
