Mollywood stars took to social media pages to express disappointment over CPM's decision to exclude former health minister KK Shailaja from the new cabinet. As the party only chose freshers, all the ministers of CPM that were part of the previous government, including former Health Minister KK Shailaja, have been dropped from the state cabinet. Shailaja has been chosen as the Party's whip.

Actress Rima Kallingal marked her dissent over the CPM’s decision through her social media pages.

“Penninedha kuzhappam?. If a landslide record win and 5 years of world class service can’t give you space in CPI(M) , what can? This mandate was for you K K Shailaja Teacher. For being the human face of this party. For your hard work,” wrote Rima Kallingal.

The hashtags appealing ‘bring our teacher back’ and ‘Bring Back Shailaja Teacher’ have been trending on social media as stars and public started to outcry for KK Shailaja's ministerial post.

‘Uyare’ actress Parvathy penned a long post on her Instagram page as being unhappy over the new cabinet.

She described KK Shailja as one of the most able leaders of our times.

“We deserve better than this! #bringourteacherback One of the most able leaders of our times! A rarity, really! @shailajateacher led the state through the most difficult of medical emergencies. She won from the Mattannur constituency in her hometown of Kannur, with a margin of over 60,963 votes! A landslide victory! The highest margin in the 140-member Assembly! And while we are still fighting the second wave of COVID-19, @cpimkerala decides to relegate her to the role of party whip??! Is this for real?,” wrote Parvathy.

She also observed that there is no justification for excluding the former health minister from the cabinet. Criticising CPM, she pointed out that the decision will put the party in a questionable position.

“No justifications to this! The people chose their leaders and this sidelining puts the party in a very questionable position. What’s more important than immediate and able governance! Bring our teacher back!,” she added.

‘June’ actress Rajisha Vijayan also condemned CPM’s decision. She pointed out Shailaja teacher’s role in governing and rescuing the Keralites during the biggest calamities.

“To give chance to new leaders is a good thought but not at the cost of such legendary ones who played such a huge role in governing and rescuing us during some of the biggest calamities our state has faced. She deserves more,” Rajisha penned.

Actresses Mridula Murali, Geetu Mohandas, music director Kailas Menon and singer Vidhu Pratap also expressed dissent over the exclusion of Shailaja from the cabinet.
