Jeethu Joseph’s Malayalam blockbuster ‘Drishyam’, starring Mohanlal, is all set to be remade in all non-Indian languages, excluding Filipino, Sinhala and Indonesian.
As per latest reports, Panorama Studios International Ltd has acquired the remake rights of Drishyam 1 and Drishyam 2 in all the mentioned languages, including English.
Apparently, Panorama Studios decided to move forward with the remakes following the box office success of the film’s Hindi remake starring Ajay Devgn, Tabu and Shriya Saran among others.
In an official media release, Panorama Studios stated that they have acquired remake rights in Chinese and are currently in negotiations to produce the film in Korea, Japan and English.
'Drishyam' was released in 2013 and the sequel was released in 2021. It was remade in Tamil as ‘Papanasam’, ‘Drishya’ in Kannada and ‘Drushyam’ in Telugu.
The movie was produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas and stars Meena, Ansiba, Esther, Siddique, and Asha Sarath.
'Drishyam 2', directed by Abhishek Pathak, was one of the highest grossing Hindi titles of 2022 amassing over Rs 300 crore at the box office.
