With the outbreak of Coronavirus and nationwide lockdown, no Malayalam movies will be released for this Vishu. It is for the first time in Kerala, theatres will remain closed without movie releases for Vishu.
Mohanlal starrer ‘Marakkar-Arabikadalinte Simham’ and Mammootty starrer ‘One’ were among the movies that were scheduled for release for Vishu. ‘Marakkar’ made headlines as director Priyadarshan is making his comeback to Mollywood with Mohanlal. It was also promoted as one of the big-budget movies in Mollywood. The movie has promised the best visual experience ever made in Malayalam and was scheduled to hit screens on March 26.
Mammootty’s ‘One’ directed by Santhosh Viswanath was scheduled to release on April 2. The movie which is a political drama will feature Mammootty as a politician.
Fahadh Faasil starrer ‘Malik’ to be released on April 12 is also delayed.
Release of ‘Kilometres and Kilometres’ starring Tovino Thomas is also postponed. The movie which was scheduled to be released on March 12 was postponed when the state was put on high alert against coronavirus outbreak.
Release of Indrajith starrer ‘Aaha’ and Anaswara Rajan starrer ‘Vaanku’ also delayed.
Production and post-production works of many movies are cancelled after the government ordered to cancel all shootings.
