Mollywood star Mohanlal is the latest to react on the toxic fumes arising from the waste management plant in Brahmapuram, Kochi. In an exclusive write up to ‘Mathrubhumi’, the actor said that he was very much concerned about the mothers and fathers staying in Kochi.
“I am penning this note from Pokhran desert in Rajasthan. Except for the scorching heat, the wind and light are pleasant here. However, I don’t feel like enjoying it because my mother is in Kochi. I am constantly haunted by the fear about whether the poisonous fumes from Brahmapuram may reach my mother’s room too,” Mohanlal wrote.
The actor further added, “I am seeing numerous mothers and fathers in Kochi. I’m seeing the helpless who don’t have anywhere else to move to. Beyond that, I am hearing the futile sound of political uproars.”
Asserting that he had presented the issue of waste management through his earlier blogs, Mohanlal wrote, “Kerala’s population density is much higher than that of other states. Hence, the waste problem in our state and major cities needs to be specially dealt and resolved properly.”
Earlier this week, several Mollywood stars, including Mammootty, Prithviraj Sukumaran, Unni Mukundan and Tovino Thomas among others, took to their social media handles and shared concern about the deteriorating air quality in Kochi.
