Kochi: Theatres are back to the good times with houseful shows running after a long gap caused by the pandemic. The first movie that hit theaters with a big collection was ‘Kurup’ starring Dulquer Salmaan. The movies that were released on OTT platforms also gave financial benefits to the Malayalam film industry.

Along with the big-budget movies like ‘Marakkar’ and ‘Kurup’, small scale movies like ‘Jan-E-Man’ also received impressive response in theatres, according to the Film Exhibitors United Organisation of Kerala (FEUOK).

Feuok president K Vijayakumar said that it is an ‘unlock’ period for the theatres in Kerala after the pandemic. Feuok is planning to release about 50 movies in theatres within the next three months.
