Kochi: Actor Anju Krishna Ashok has come to the fore clarifying that she is not the theatre artist who was arrested for drug sale in Thrikkakara, Ernakulam.

Taking to Instagram, she wrote, “Today a case has been reported on the arrest of an actress named Anju Krishna ‘which is not me’ - contemporary namesakes can lead to problems!! Here coincidently the ‘collar’ and I share the same name.

The media outlets are tagging me instead of the real wrongdoer and this is not a laughing matter for me and my family.

So hereby I request to kindly remove the tags and stop the confusion. If the issue continues, I will be forced to file a complaint and take legal action on this.”

On Tuesday, a theatre actress by the name of Anju Krishna was nabbed by the ‘Yodhavu’ (Warrior) squad led by the city police commissioner for illegal possession of 56 grams of MDMA at her residence.

Following this, several media outlets tagged film actor Anju Krishna in their stories resulting in the confusion.

Anju Krishna, who made her debut through Jibu Jacob’s ‘Adhyarathri, has acted in several other movies and is active in modelling too.
