Inauguration of Aswasam project

Kochi: Actor Mammootty's Care and Share International Foundation distributed oxygen concentrators as part of the ‘Aswasam’ project launched for the bedridden patients.

In the initial phase, oxygen concentrators were handed over to four voluntary organisations- Ashraya, Gandhibhavan, SUS Charitable Trust, and Shihab Thangal Charitable Trust; and Kochi corporation for the use of bedridden patients.

Oxygen concentrators are devices that extract oxygen from the atmosphere and supply it to patients. Hence, oxygen will not get exhausted as in oxygen cylinders.

As many as 50 oxygen concentrators will be distributed in the first phase in the project which was launched in collaboration with Rajagiri Hospital in Aluva. Care and Share International Foundation Managing Director Father Thomas Kurien said that the project will soon be extended to more regions.
