Kuttanad: Malayalam lyricist Beeyar Prasad’s family is seeking financial aid for his treatment. Prasad is currently under critical condition due to a cerebrovascular accident. He is presently in ventilator at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram. The treatment expenses cost atleast Rs 1.5 lakh per day. Prasad’s friends and organisations in the film field have also requested for financial assistance.
His kidney was transplanted two years back. Mathrubhumi had published his novel ‘Chandrolsavam’. The writing of his other novel is underway.
Cerebrovascular accident was confirmed when Prasad was admitted to a hospital after experiencing certain health issues when he arrived at Thiruvananthapuram to attend a channel’s programme.
A poet and dramatist, Beeyar Prasad entered film industry writing screenplay for a children’s movie in 1993. The songs penned by him in Mohanlal starrer ‘Kilichundan Mambazham’ put him to fame.
