Actor Mohanlal expressed his condolences over the demise of Mathrubhumi Managing Director and Rajya Sabha MP Veerendra Kumar. Speaking to Mathrubhumi News, the actor paid tributes to the veteran politician and writer.
“I have lost a loving relative. He always treated me like a close relative whenever we meet. Ten days ago, we had a conversation. We used to make phone calls to each other. He had the freedom to enquire personal matters as a caring friend. His humour sense and love will always be remembered,” said Mohanlal.
“He had greeted me on my birthday. He used to connect with me over the phone frequently from Kozhikode and other places. Movies and books were the major topics of our conversations. His son Shreyams Kumar is also my good friend. Veerendra Kumar was too disturbed during his last days. He was missing his friends and disappointed that he was unable to go outside. When I talked to Shreyams Kumar, he told me that father passed away peacefully. Actually, we have to describe his death as a farewell journey from earth after gifting us beautiful memories,” said Mohanlal.
