Kozhikode: Malayalam actor Joju George on Monday posted a video stating that he was facing attacks in his personal and professional life and he wanted to focus only on movies. However, he deleted the post on Instagram after the media reported that the actor was quitting social media.

I have been staying away from all sorts of media for quite some time now. I tried to become active again for the promotion of the movie ‘Iratta’. But I have been dragged into unnecessary issues again. I am going to focus only on films. I have been suffering through a struggling period in my career. Please leave me alone. I am not asking for your help. But it would be nice if you could stop harassing me, he said in the video.

He also thanked his followers for accepting him as an artist.

Joju had recently criticised the social media reviews of the movies. He had said that a film is the life of so many people and no one should consider it silly. Such reviews have a huge impact. But many of them never watch the film they are criticising, he said while meeting with the media. Joju then faced criticism for this comment.

In 2021, Joju had deactivated his social media accounts after facing 'cyberbullying' following the quarrel with Congress workers amid a protest against the fuel price hike in Kochi.
