The Kerala Film Producers’ Association (KFPA) has lifted its temporary ban on actor Sreenath Bhasi after two months. The association imposed a ban on the actor after police registered a case against him for verbally abusing a female anchor during an interview.
On September 26, police arrested the actor over the anchor’s complaint. KFPA took action against Sreenath Bhasi after the anchor approached the association with a complaint.
Film stars including Mammootty condemned the ban. But KFPA declared that they will not review their decision.But after two months, the association decided to lift the ban on the actor.
Maradu police registered a case against Sreenath Bhasi over the anchor’s complaint in September. Though a probe was initiated, the case was settled as the anchor expressed willingness to withdraw her complaint. Following this, the High Court nullified the case based on the actor’s plea.
The incident related to the case took place during an interview for the promotion of the movie 'Chattambi'. Irked with the questions of the anchor, Sreenath Bhasi hurled abusive words at the anchor.
