Thiruvananthapuram: Mollywood actor and producer Maniyanpilla Raju was one of the VIPs who took a ride on the inaugural journey of KSRTC’s city circular bus. After taking a ride in the KSRTC bus, Maniyanpilla Raju lauded KSRTC for launching the service which is essential for the city dwellers.
Noted personalities based in Thiruvananthapuram were invited for the maiden ride of the KSRTC city circular bus in the capital city. They were also excited to take a ride on the inaugural ride of the service which they have experienced in foreign countries.
Chamber of Commerce chairman SN Raghuchandran Nair, secretary Abraham Thomas, EM Najeeb, architect N Mahesh and TATF secretary K Sreekanth also took a ride in the bus along with Maniyanpilla Raju.
Additional chief secretary RK Singh, transport principal secretary KR Jyothilal and KSRTC MD Biju Prabhakar also travelled in the bus.
The VIPs boarded the bus from Kanakakunnu on Saturday around 5 pm. All took a Good Day ticket of Rs 50 which offers a ride in all circles for 24 hours.
“Many government employees are dwelling in Thiruvananthapuram town. So, the city circular bus services will benefit government employees as well as private-sector employees. People who arrive in the town for various purposes will be able to ease the commutation woes. The KSRTC bus has turned similar to metro service for Thiruvananthapuram natives,” said Maniyanpilla Raju.
The introductory offer of the newly set up Thiruvananthapuram City Circular Service promises a ride for Rs 10 from December 6 to January 15, 2022.
All you have to do is pay Rs 10 to board a bus from anywhere in Thiruvananthapuram town and get off anywhere on a trip or complete a circle. In connection with Christmas, New Year and Sabarimala seasons, the circular fare is set at Rs 10 only.
