Mollywood stars took to social media pages to congratulate Kollywood superstar Rajinikanth for winning the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke award. The whole country is celebrating the achievement of Rajinikanth who is popularly known as ‘Thalaivar’.
Mollywood superstar Mohanlal who was also a member of the Dadasaheb Phalke Award jury took to his social media pages and congratulated Rajinikanth.
“Well deserved recognition, Congratulations Dear @rajinikanth sir on The Dadasaheb Phalke Award,” wrote Mohanlal.
Megastar Mammootty who shared screen space with Rajini in the super hit movie ‘Thalapathi’ also expressed happiness for his co-star’s achievement.
“Congratulations Surya for the Dadasaheb Phalke Award. With love Deva,” Mammootty wrote on his Facebook page.
“Congratulations #Rajini Sir! Well deserved accolade! #DadaSahebPhalke Award!,” tweeted Prithviraj Sukumaran.
Actor Unni Mukundan, Aju Varghese and many others also congratulated the South superstar through social media.
The Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest honour in cinema. It is presented annually at the National Film Awards by the Directorate of Film Festivals of the Information and Broadcasting ministry of the Government of India. The first recipient of the award was actress Devika Rani. Recent recipients include Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, filmmaker K.Vishwanath and Manoj Kumar.
