Kollam: Singer Somadas Chathannoor, who rose to fame through television reality shows, passed away here on Sunday. He was 42.
The singer breathed his last due to cardiac arrest around 3 am. He was undergoing treatment at Parippally medical college after recovering from COVID-19. Somadas, a native of Chathannoor, was admitted in to the medical college hospital after testing COVID positive. Later, he was diagnosed with kidney-related ailments.
He tested negative for COVID-19 the other day.
He suffered cardiac arrest when the doctors were planning to shift him from the ICU.
Somadas also rendered voice for songs in movies like ‘Annarakkannanum Thannalayath’, ‘Mr Perfect’, and ‘Mannamkkattayum Kariyilayum’.
He impressed the music lovers by imitating the voice of late actor and singer Kalabhavan Mani in stage shows.
He completed his studies from Kollam St. Joseph’s Higher Secondary School and SN College. He is survived by wife and two daughters.
