After a long hiatus of 35 years, Ulaganayakan Kamal Haasan and veteran director Mani Ratnam are teaming up for a big-budget film, tentatively titled ‘KH234’. The new film will mark their collaboration after 1987 action drama 'Nayakan', which is considered one of the best Indian movies.
Taking to Twitter, Kamal Haasan wrote, "Here we go again! #KH234.” In the caption, he called this film 'a next step in his journey.’
The film will be produced by Kamal Haasan, Mani Ratnam, R Mahendran and Siva Ananth under the banner of Madras Talkies and presented by Udhayanidhi Stalin's Red Giant Movies. The music will be composed by AR Rahman.
Reportedly, the film will hit theatres by 2024. The official announcement of the film has been made ahead of the actor’s 68th birthday.
Haasan is currently working on 'Indian 2', which is directed by Shankar.
Ratnam most recently directed 'Ponniyin Selvan-I', based on Kalki Krishnamurthy's 1955 novel, Ponniyin Selvan.
