Mollywood star Kalidas Jayaram is in cloud nine after his role in the latest Tamil Anthology ‘Paava Kadhaigal’ got good appreciation from the audience. Stars including Dulquer Salmaan and Suriya lauded Kalidas for his stunning performance in the movie.
Kalidas was seen in the short titled ‘Thangam’ directed by ‘Soorarai Pottru’ fame Sudha Kongara and was released on Friday via Netflix.
Kalidas has been receiving good review on his character in the movie soon after its streaming on Netflix.
“Too much love coming my way I don't know how to handle it,” wrote Kalidas on his Instagram page after the release of the movie.
In ‘Paava Kadhaigal’, Kalidas played the role of a transgender named Sathar who is secretly in love with his childhood friend Saravanan, played by Shanthanu Bhagyaraj.
Mollywood Star Dulquer Salmaan showered praises on Kalidas after watching the movie.
Dulquer took to his twitter page and penned a review on the movie.
“Happened to watch “Thangam” from #PaavaKadhaigal ! Sudha Maam you’ve touched and moved the viewers once again with such a delicate and tender story. Kalidas your portrayal was endearing, fragile and heartbreaking. shanthnu you were mature strong and intense,” tweeted Dulquer.
Kalidas expressed gratitude to Dulquer for always supporting him.
A day after the release of the movie, Kalidas took to his social media pages and thanked all for accepting his role in the movie.
The transgender role in the movie marks Kalidas bold choice as an actor and one of the best performance in his career. Kollywood superstar Suriya also congratulated Kalidas and the whole team of ‘Thangam’.
"Paava Kadhaigal", loosely translated as 'Sin Stories', features four shorts from celebrated filmmakers Vignesh Shivan, Sudha Kongara, Gautham Vasudev Menon and Vetri Maaran.
The anthology explores how love, pride and honour influence complex relationships.
